Curlsmith Hair Care Review

I've been using Curlsmith Weightless Air Dry Cream, Scalp Stimulating Booster, Bouncy Strength Volume Foam, Hydro Crème Soothing Mask and Curl Defining Styling Soufflé for a few weeks now and I am impressed.

Read on for my review of these Curlsmith products from the scalp, moisture and strength recipes.

About Curlsmith Hair Products

Curlsmith offers a wide range of recipes (scalp, moisture, strength, colour, anti-frizz and volume) for curly, coily and kinky natural hair.

The Curlsmith range also includes temporary hair colour (which I have my eye on) and hair tools and accessories for kinky curly hair.

I've previously used Curlsmith Wash and Scrub Detox Shampoo and Curlsmith Post Wash Calming Conditioner from the Scalp Recipe and my hair enjoyed both. So I was excited to explore more of the Curlsmith range.

Curlsmith products are vegan, cruelty-free, curly girl friendly and made without silicone and sulphates.

Curlsmith Weightless Air Dry Cream

Made with castor oil, babassu, shea butter, dragon fruit, Hyaluronic acid, ginger and wild murumuru, this Curlsmith Weightless Air Dry Leave-In Conditioner offers moisture and definition without the weight, with each use it felt as if my scalp could actually breathe.

I loved Curlsmith Weightless Air Dry Leave-In Cream for my natural 4c hair and my eldest daughter's curly type 3 hair. Curlsmith Weightless Air Dry Leave-In Cream works best on wet hair and is good for refreshing hair in between wash day too if you spritz your hair with a little water before application. There wasn’t any need to layer lots of products and by each washday there wasn’t much build up.

Curlsmith Curl Defining Styling Souffle

This Curlsmith styling gel is packed with babassu oil, andiroba, Rosemary, sage and linseed extract. Curlsmith Curl Defining Styling Souffle has a jelly like consistency and a little goes a long way. I found Curlsmith Curl Defining Styling Souffle worked better on my daughter’s type 3 hair. When I applied it to my type 4 hair initially I had great definition but experienced some flaking because I applied too much product. So, I've found less is more with this gel and it works best on wet hair.

Curlsmith Hydro Creme Soothing Mask

This Curlsmith Deep Conditioner is formulated with Hyaluronic acid, white cedar, lavender, green tea, thyme and amla to balance, nourish and provide intense hydration to thirsty hair. Curlsmith Hydro Creme Soothing Mask's texture feels like a whipped soufflé, the formula melts into strands and does what it says on the pot. A little goes a long way too. I'm going to need this in a bigger tub and it's definitely one for my list of Best Deep Conditioners for Natural Hair!

Curlsmith Bouncy Strength Volume Foam

I've been experimenting with mousses and styling foams lately and this styling foam from Curlsmith is delightful. It’s made with hemp seed, wild Rice protein, blackcurrant, shitake mushroom and green kale leaf. Curlsmith Bouncy Strengthen Volume Foam offers a light hold and helps with definition too.

Curlsmith Scalp Stimulating Booster

This Scalp Booster is a blend of Baicapil ( Scutellaria baicalensis, wheat germ and soyabean) and Anagain (derived from pea sprout) which have been clinically proven to support hair growth. Curlsmith Scalp Booster also contains Guarana, Ginger, Nettle, dragon fruit to nourish and stimulate the scalp for fuller looking hair. The Stimulating Scalp Booster serum can be used daily and absorbs nicely into hair and scalp. My postpartum edges were in need of this and it's already helping to bring them back to life.

I've enjoyed exploring more from the Curlsmith range and love that the different recipes are packed with natural ingredients. All the recipes that I tried felt luxurious but it's the Hydro Creme Soothing Mask, Weightless Air Dry Cream and Scalp Stimulating Booster for me.
