What is Wakati hair?
Wakati means time in Swahili and centers around giving naturalistas time on wash day, providing memorable experiences and empowering diverse communities. Developed by Kao, scientists and African American researchers, Wakati hair care has been specifically for natural, textured hair. The Wakati range was also developed in association with FAMU who helped with the packaging.
Suitable for 3a to 4c hair, the range is vegan, SLS Free, the packaging is fully recyclable and smell amazing.
Wakati Sulfate-Free Shampoo
Wakati Sulfate-free shampoo has a nice lather removes build up and leaves hair feeling moisturised not stripped or dry. This is one of the gentlest shampoos I have tried and have found myself reaching for it over and over again over the past few weeks.
Wakati Water Activated Conditioner
My hair loves Wakati Water Activated Conditioner and it helps with finger detangling and as the name says activates with water. I leave this on for at least 5 minutes and then rinse with cool water.
Wakati Oil-Infused Cream
Wakati Oil-Infused Cream provides moisture, slip, shine and definition. My hair loves it! It’s great for smoothing down flyaways when my hair is in a bun too and isn’t heavy. Wakati Oil-Infused Cream is the star of the three products I’ve been trying out from the Wakati natural hair range.
My Final Thoughts on Wakati Hair care
All three Wakati products which I tried surprised me and worked really well on my natural 4c hair. They leave my hair feeling soft and looking shiny. There is also a Re-Activating Conditioning Mist in the Wakati hair range formulated to hydrate and refresh hair and if it’s anything like the rest of the range I need to get my hands on it… Priced at £10.99 each you can find the full Wakati hair range on Boots.com.
