After a bit of a hiatus from running, trying to fit runs in as a busy toddler mum working full time has been challenging but I have been working on getting my running mojo back and Hiro Hydration has been helping me rehydrate post-run! Read on for my review of Hiro (formerly Hux) Hydration and Electrolyte effervescents.
What is Hiro?
Hiro is a health company which provides supplements with science-backed ingredients to help everyone find their edge daily. The Hiro range includes supplements for sleep, beauty and nootropics as well as superfood blends and hydration and electrolyte effervescent tablets.
What is Hiro Hydration?
Hiro Hydration are effervescent tablets made with essential electrolytes and minerals to help support optimum hydration and muscle function. Hiro hydration is formulated with:
Potassium which helps with tissue function in the body and helps maintain fluid levels in our cells.
Chloride - the second most abundant electrolyte in the blood and we lose this when we sweat excessively due to being hot or through prolonged exercise.
Magnesium - an electrolyte which works with calcium in the body to help keep muscles mobile.
Zinc - an essential mineral which helps with tissue and muscle repair and supports the immune system.
Manganese - one of nine trace minerals found in the bones, liver, kidneys, brain, pancreas which our body needs to function healthily. It helps turn food into energy and protects cells from damage.
Sodium - one of the main electrolytes in our bodies needed to maintain fluid balance.
You can see the full nutritional info for Hiro Hydration here.
You can choose from watermelon, ginger & lemongrass or lemon & elderflower flavour of Hiro Hydration and these effervescent tablets are vegan and gluten free.
What does Hiro Hydration Tablets do?
Our bodies are up of 60% water and sweating excessively can lead to dehydration if we lose more water than we consume. If dehydrated drinking lots of water is key but you also need to replace lost electrolytes so your body can absorb the water that you drink. Hiro hyrdation helps reduce fluid loss and each portion is equivalent to the potassium of three bananas and has more zinc than 10 cups of spinach. It also hydrates three times more than water alone because it helps replace the electrolytes lost during exercise!
How to take Hydration Tablets?
Hiro recommends dissolving two tablets in 200ml of water and then drinking the solution. This could be post-workout, before a night out or in the middle of the day as a pick me up to help you get your edge back.
Alternatively, you can add one tablet of Hiro Hydration to water for better tasting water…
Where to buy Hiro Hydration Effervescent Tablets?
You can buy Hiro Hydration here and if you subscribe to a monthly subscription service and Hiro will send you these every month, with this option you can save 20% and you can pause or cancel at any time. Alternatively, you can buy these as a one off. Plus, you can save on your first order with the code TRYHIRO here for orders from £30…
My thoughts on Hux Hydration
Since taking Hiro Hydration I feel more hydrated and have noticed a difference after my runs compared to when I did not use to take them. In the past, post workout I would simply have water or coconut water to rehydrate. I like all three flavours of Hiro Hydration and find them all refreshing but if I had to choose one I would go with watermelon because it’s one of my favourite fruits and it tastes great.
I hope you found this post useful. Check out Hiro Hydration and let me know if you notice the difference!
Thanks for stopping by.
