Natural Hair Care Review: Activilong Actiforce

I’ve recently been using some Activilong Paris hair care and must say I really like the products I’ve used so far… I used the Actiforce Co-Wash which I received in the July edition of TreasureTress (the go-to product discovery box for kinky curly hair) and the Fortifying Hair Mask which I bought at CurlyTreats Festival along with samples of the Puff Cream which I received as a gift with purchase at CurlyTreats.

The Activiforce range is formulated for dry, brittle kinky hair with ingredients such as Black Castor Oil, Sapote, plant-based proteins and has no parabens, silicone or mineral oil. Castor Oil for me is holy grail being originally for Jamaica so this was one of the reasons why I was drawn to this range. It’s rich in fatty acids, vitamins and is known to help with stimulate growth.

I wasn’t familiar with Sapote before trying this range… Sapote is a soft, edible fruit commonly found in central and south America as well as the Caribbean. It’s rich in moisture and protein and has nourishing, soothing and softening properties.

So the products…

Co-Wash

The Actiforce Co-Wash was surprisingly good, it’s non-foaming, gentle, has lots of slip, detangling and left my hair feeling clean but not stripped. This would be good for a mid-week washday if you workout frequently and sweat a lot as you could even use it on its own without following with a conditioner.

Mask

The Fortifying Care Mask has a very creamy consistency, great slip and a little goes a long way as it has coconut oil, black castor oil, sapota seed butter and shea butter in the formula.

I got four uses out of the tub. The product left it on for about 30mins for deep conditioning (sometimes longer) and left my hair feeling nourished. This is my favourite product from the range and I love a good mask!

Styling

Finally, after co-washing and deep conditioning I used the Activilong Puff Cream. Like the other products, the Puff Cream left my hair feeling very moisturised and I only used one and a half sachets along with my DIY hair oil potion to moisturise and seal.

Overall, I really like the Actiforce range though my only criticism would be that though pleasant the fragrance level is a bit high/strong.

Having said that I went to Pak’s to stock up on the Mask but found out they don’t sell the range so I will have to re-purchase from Activilong’s site (I also have my eye on the leave-in).
Have you tried Activilong products before?

Thanks for stopping by!
