Camille Rose Naturals Review
Camille Rose has recently landed in the UK and I spotted the range on offer so I bought the Algae Renew Deep Conditioning Mask, Almond Jai Twisting Butter and Curl Love Moisture Milk to try out.
Camille Rose was founded by master mixtress, Jenell Stephens and the range has been on the market in the UK for a few years now and I first discovered them at Afro Hair and Beauty Live but I hadn’t bought or tried the products before. On reflection I think this might have been due to the price point and me not fully looking into the products. I had a closer look at the products online and saw great reviews. Also the brand’s focus is very much on health and wellness and the formulas had lots of lovely ingredients which I love! so when I saw them in-store at Boots on offer, the product junkie in me had to pick them up!
Here are my thoughts on Camille Rose’s Algae Renew Deep Conditioning Mask, Almond Jai Twisting Butter and Curl Love Moisture Milk…
Camille Rose Naturals Algae Renew Deep Conditioning Mask
Key ingredients:
Unrefined Cocoa and Mango Butter - natural moisturisers
Pure Blue Algae - helps prevent thinning and breakage
Firstly, this deep conditioner/hair mask smells like mint, chocolate vanilla ice cream - mmmm! It is packed with 65 vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. I deep conditioned with the Camille Rose Naturals Algae Renew Deep Conditioning Mask (£15.99, 240ml) for 20 minutes with heat for a more intensive treatment. I have been sleeping on deep conditioning with heat lately and after deep conditioning in this way, I noticed a huge difference in my hair - so please don’t be like me and sleep on deep conditioning with heat if your hair needs it! By the way, did I mention this Algae Renew Deep Conditioner has great slip too? It made detangling a breeze and my hair was poppin’, yes poppin’ after use..
Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter
Key ingredients:
Sweet Almond Oil - conditions scalp and ends
Honey - natural emollient and acts moisture
Aloe Vera - helps lock in moisture
This Almond Jai Twisting Butter (£13.50, 240ml) is very rich so a little goes a long way. I have seen lots of great reviews for this product online and have been looking for a good twisting butter. It’s one of the richest butter’s I’ve used in a while. It reminds me a bit of the Activilong Actiforce Black Castor Oil Puff Cream however, the Camille Rose Twisting Butter is a little creamier and smoother.
Despite being thick and creamy this product absorbs into hair well and you can use it on its own or with a leave-in. You can use this twisting butter as a leave-in on thicker hair. I used the Almond Jai Twisting Butter on damp hair and proceed to twisting my hair. My twists felt juicy and moisturised. Plus, the twisting butter smells like ice cream and it’s loaded with nourishing ingredients like sweet almond oil, honey, macadamia, almond milk, hemp seed oil, castor oil and aloe.
Camille Rose Naturals Curl Love Moisture Milk
Key ingredients:
Rice Milk - packed with vitamins A, D and B12
Macadamia Oil - seals in moisture
Slippery elm bark - softens and detangles
With a blend of rice milk, macadamia oil, slippery elm bark, avocado oil, castor oil and aloe, the Camille Rose Naturals Curl Love Hair Milk (£11.99, 240ml) has a lovely texture and does a good job at detangling my hair. It works nicely with twisting butter for added moisture. However, I found the Twisting Butter is enough for me as when I used both together my hair felt a little weighed down (maybe I used too much or this was a result of moisture overload…). Having said that this product does smell lovely, it’s fragrance is consistent with the Almond Jai Twisting Butter. You can use the hair milk as a leave-in conditioner or to refresh dry hair. I have used better and more affordable hair milks so I don’t think I’d purchase this one again.
My final thoughts on Camille Rose Naturals Hair Care
I am really pleased with the Camille Rose Naturals products that I used - the quality is good so I will be keeping an eye out for them on offer and also any new launches. I will definitely repurchase the Almond Jai Twisting Butter and Algae Renew Deep Conditioning Mask. The Curl Love Hair Milk is nice but I’ve personally used more moisturising ones which felt less ‘producty’ for instance Mielle’s Avocado Moisturising Hair Milk and Palmer’s Coconut Oil Hair Milk.
Also, I love the ingredients and how rich these products are, the Almond Jai Twisting Butter particular could last a long time. You can find most of the products mentioned on here and you can save 20% off here with the code LFTFKRISTA.
Have you tried any of these Camille Rose Naturals before or any of their other products? What did you think? Let me know in the comments.
Thanks for stopping by!
