Tropical Green Smoothie

Today’s smoothie is a tropical green smoothie bowl… I basically needed to use up some fruit and veg in my fridge before they went off…

Smoothie Ingredients

  • 1 Papaya

  • 1 Organic Banana

  • 1/2 bag Sainsbury’s Organic Spinach

  • c100g Alpro plain with Coconut

  • 1/2 cup frozen Mango

  • 50ml Water

Simply blend all ingredients in a nutribullet until smooth and creamy.

Smoothie Toppings

For the toppings, I went with the following but you can top with fruits, berries or specific smoothie boosters.

  • Chopped Nuts

  • Organic Cacao Nibs

  • Organic Desiccated Coconut

Smoothie Benefits

Papaya not only tastes yummy, it is loaded with vitamins such as Vitamin C too and enzymes like papain which help promote good gut bacteria!

Best known as the base for chocolate, Cacao is one of the most antioxidant rich foods and is packed with antioxidants which help fight off damaging free radicals. It also helps boost your energy levels, mood and is rich in fibre (which again is good for the gut)…

Now onto the taste… this smoothie tasted fruity but the banana did overpower the other ingredients slightly and the cacao nibs too due to the distinct taste. Having said that this smoothie was nice and filling…
